It is often said “think before you speak” and for the most part the thought comes in our mind and we act or respond; verbally or physically. That action or response started as a thought therefore we thought about it so to speak. What that very catchy phrase is saying is ponder over that thought before you act or respond. The first thought in your mind may not always be the most appropriate way to act or respond. One good question you may want to ask yourself as you ponder over your thought is “what am I going to gain or accomplish if I allow this thought to proceed into an action?”
