Obama ran for president Shirley Chisholm survived three assassination attempts during her campaign for the 1972 Democratic nomination to the U.S. presidency. Shirley Chisholm is best known for becoming the first black congresswoman (1968), representing New York State in the U.S. House of Representatives for seven terms. It’s a wonderful Wednesday at Nana’s Place. Did you know Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated on (his friend’s Maya Angelou’s birthday), on April 5, 1968. It’s a Marvelous Monday at Nana’s Place. African Americans tend to get upset that few people want to talk about slavery stating they give more attention to the Holocaust victims… Please recognize America was considered the hero in that story. In the Slavery story, America is the villain. America also had concentration camps that we don’t hear about. NO one wants to talk about the dirt in their backyard but is quick to tell you about someone else’s dirt. It’s easier to talk about what they did as opposed to what “WE” did.
